It’s true! For the most part, I’ve found that there are three levels of self-awareness. The first level is all the stuff we think and do. Those things are the ones that affect the most. The second level is the ones we don’t really think about but are the most important: the ones that matter. The last level is the ones that we think are the most important: the ones that are most important.
The first level includes all the fun stuff like dancing, drinking, and eating all that go-go-go. The second level includes all the important stuff like caring about the people in your life. The last level includes all the important stuff like learning to appreciate the people you love while taking care of them.

If you’re like me, you’ve probably noticed that our relationships are in a constant state of change. We’ve been married a dozen times, we live with different roommates each and every year, and we’re constantly changing our jobs, our careers, and our social circles. In the end, it’s not the relationship that we’re changing, but the people in our lives.
So if your relationship doesn’t change then youre probably doing everything you can to make sure that someone else also doesn’t change. The same goes for your work life. It’s a given that you will find yourself changing jobs and companies, and even changing careers. You might be so busy that you don’t realize that you’re the one in the corner of the conference room doing the work and not the one doing the work.
This is because we all want to live a balanced life. As a lifestyle, we want to have fun, but we also want to work so we can have a balance in life. Unfortunately, for many it’s all too easy to become preoccupied with work and family and feel that these responsibilities are just too much to keep up. Its the work that makes us feel good, so we work because it makes us feel good.
We can’t do this work without some sort of a work-life balance. So if we don’t have a work-life balance, we feel we aren’t doing our jobs as well as we could. Its easy to get so caught up in work and life that we can’t see the forest for the trees or ourselves.
This is a pretty common excuse. Its like the “I have no idea what I’m doing as a manager, so I can’t fix that” excuse. The problem comes when we try to fix that excuse by just changing our work life balance. This is usually a little too easy to do because we are living in a society where we seem to have an endless supply of jobs.
