I’ve been a teacher of three levels of self-care for many years. I am happy to be working with a lot of students who are working with this project and have some issues with their own personal responsibility. My goal is not to be a boss but rather to develop a healthy lifestyle.
I have found that if a student is taking care of themselves, they will naturally have a better time of learning. So my goals are both more about helping students learn from the things that they do naturally and less about being a teacher.
This is one of the most common questions I get asked. People are so focused on the fact that it’s important, but they have to do a lot more. I will ask them to share a little about what they’re doing to feel fulfilled and happier, and give them the opportunity to use what they’ve learned. This is one of the easiest things that I can do. I just ask one of them to go to a book store and pick up a copy.
I have a few ideas on how I could do this. Most of them just involve having them read books that I have on my shelves. One of the most common ones is a book that covers the five different “aha” moments in the act of acting and in the process of learning. I think this is a great way to help them learn to think about and use their actions. A good way to use this is to have them do something that they feel is their natural response.
The rules for doing this are simple. You can’t tell anyone if you’re doing something wrong or the process going bad. You can’t tell anyone if you’re doing something right or wrong. If you feel like learning something you should show them. You can always ask the person to do something.
The process goes horribly wrong for a lot of people. It is a very common problem and the reason for the recent spike in depression. People are always trying to avoid doing something they didnt want to do and it gets them into trouble. Most of the time it is due to the person being so afraid of what they are doing that they can’t look at what it is they are doing. They can do it and then look at it and get confused.
I’ve tried to be gentle with people who are frustrated with their time-limit-scraping/obfuscating/posting-pupil-designing/sprawling-design-work-designing (TDD) projects, but I can’t. They look at it and then look at it and make it sound like they are doing whatever it is they have to do, but they are not.
The thing is, time is so precious, and we’re all rushing to finish things that are important to us, that we forget the point of it. Then we look up at the clock and think, “I have been working at this for so long, I should be done.” Or, we think, “I have been working at this for so long, I have to quit now, it is time for me to go home and get some sleep.

In many ways, the thought of time is a tricky one. We think that we can’t stand to sit at a desk all day, especially if someone is looking over our shoulder. We think of the clock ticking and the hours flying by and the minutes ticking by and the hours flying by and the minutes ticking by, and that we really don’t want to be there. Then we think, I have been working at this for so long, I should be done.
