We tend to act the way we are. I love to try to steer clear of the negative things that I do. But in my experience, when I’m taking advantage of a situation that I don’t want to be in, it’s probably not helpful because it can easily be avoided. Instead, I try to be the first person to take a step back and really do this myself.
Affirmative action is a common strategy for tackling bias that we all use. For example, I used to be very anti-bisexual, but a few years ago it was a very obvious choice to be in a relationship with a woman, as long as that woman was a woman. Recently, however, I have realized that there is a larger and much more complex issue that is not being addressed. I can tell you that I am not a woman.
Your best bet is to make sure you know just what you’re talking about. This is because when you’re talking about diversity, you are talking about something else. You may think there is a difference based on what you’ve done, but it’s so much more important to know and to ask for it.
Sure there is a difference, but I can tell you that I was a woman and I also was a person who was discriminated against and harassed for being a woman, and I was a person who was discriminated against and harassed for being white, and I was a person who was discriminated against and harassed for being Asian, and I was a person who was discriminated against and harassed for being Black.
Of course, when you talk about affirmative action you’re talking about the affirmative action for people who are already white (because that’s the only way to get diversity). Diversity refers to what you’ve already done, the people who are already there, and the people who are already not there. In affirmative action, you can’t help but think about the people who aren’t there.

We cant put them into a position that we think they are a good fit for, because some of them dont really fit in the position. The same thing is true of diversity. You can’t just bring in the best possible people, because some of them might not be the best.
